TOPIC 1.1: INTERACTION

FIVE SENSES

The five senses are: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.

1. Our sense of sight

Our eyes are the organs of sight. We can see different shapes, sizes and colours.

The pupils are black but the iris can be different colours.

Our eyes are very delicate and are protected by the eyebrows, eyelashes and eyelids. These stop sweat and dust getting into our eyes.

2. Our sense of hearing

• Our ears are the organs of hearing. We can hear loud sounds and quiet sounds.
• Our ears have three parts: the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear.
• Our ears are very delicate. Earwax is a sticky substance inside our ear canal. It protects our ears from dirt and infection.

3. Our sense of smell

Our nose is the organ we use to smell.

Air enters the nose through the nostrils.

The olfactory nerve sends information to our brain which tells us what we can smell.

We can smell about 10 000 different odours.

4. Our sense of taste comes from the taste buds on our tongue.

Our tongue is the organ we use to taste.

We can identify four basic tastes: sweet, salty, bitter and sour.

Nerves send information about the different tastes to our brain.

5. Our sense of touch

Our skin is the organ we use to touch.

Our body is covered in skin. It is the largest organ in the human body.

Our skin can tell us if something feels soft or hard, hot or cold, rough or smooth.

Sensory nerves send this information to our brain.

Espero que ya os sepaís todos los días de la semana, si no es así ya sabéis...¡a practicar!

INTRODUCCIÓN AL BLOG

 Bienvenidos al Blog de 3º de Primaria del Colegio Público Leopoldo Alas para el curso 2016-2017.

En este blog, intentaré publicar todas las semanas contenidos nuevos relacionados con todas las materias en habla inglesa: English, Natural Science, Social Science y Arts & Crafts.

Los contenidos que se cuelguen en este blog serán tanto en inglés y como en español. Algunos de los objetivos de este recurso son:

1. Reforzar en casa contenidos aprendidos en clase.

2. Facilitar el aprendizaje de algunos contenidos en caso de que no podamos acudir al colegio temporalmente.

3. Que en un espacio de tiempo limitado por adultos, los alumnos de 3º puedan visitar webs interesantes que estén relacionadas con las distintas materias, para ampliar así sus conocimientos y alimentar su curiosidad.

4. Complementar y apoyar las lecciones de Science con explicaciones en español, para evitar así posibles lagunas en contenidos elementales sobre ciencias.

5. Que los padres desde casa puedan ver lo que aprendemos durante el horario escolar.

6. Facilitar el aprendizaje de algunos contenidos en caso de que no podamos acudir al colegio temporalmente.
